Helping Jenny...

This is Jenny. She is the mom to my dear friend Melissa. I met Melissa 8 1/2 years ago when we were camp counselors for the summer, and we've been friends ever since. Her mom has been battling cancer for a long time, and Melissa is hosting an auction to help raise some money for her family.

The auction starts tomorrow over at Helping Jenny. Please head on over! And if you have something that you can offer or donate to the auction as well you can send your item over to

Bald for Becky Auction...

This week I am participating in an online auction for a sweet lady named Becky, who was diagnosed with cancer in May of this year. She is a thirty year old mother of four, with her kids ranging in age from 8 months to 9 years. After having an emergency mastectomy, doctors found that the cancer had spread to one of Becky's lungs and diagnosed her with a very invasive form of Sarcoma. After a tumor in one of her lungs was removed, Becky found that the cancer had spread to both lungs. She started chemo, but after two rounds of chemo, they found it to be ineffective. They are now searching for an alternative treatment, but she was given 6 months to live from her doctor.

Becky's story has really touched me, having battled cancer myself this year. I am auctioning off one of my family trees to help raise funds for her family. There are lots of great participants in this auction! I encourage you to check it out, and maybe get some early Christmas shopping done that will help this family.

To find the auction you can go to baldforbecky.blogspot.com. Also, the family has a facebook page for Becky which you can find here.
