Outdoor tub...

I was talking to some friends the other day about living in a remote place... away from neighbors and paved roads. This idea is so appealing to me, possibly for no other reason than I could have an outdoor tub!

This is on the short list of things I would like in my future home. I do realize that in order to do this we really would have to live away from civilization. Or at least have a ton of trees and some privacy screens. But I love the idea of having a tub outside. Soaking in the tub is one of my favorite things to do, and I think it would only enhance the experience to do it outside, under the stars, with the wind blowing by...

And no, this is not the same as having a hot tub. Not at all. First of all chlorine... yuck! And it's just a different experience to be in a hot tub as opposed to a regular tub.

Yes, I realize this might not be super realistic... but oh I'm hopeful! Anyone out there have any dreams for your living space that might seem a little different?

And no you can't be my neighbor!!! (just kidding...)

  1. Ok, so I totally get where you are coming from, I do. I just feel that my anxiety about someone walking right up behind me is way greater than the desire to bathe outside. I would rather take a bath behind a locked door. Perhaps if said bathtub were on a private deck a floor or two up, with the only entrance were through a bedroom I could lock... yes, I think i might enjoy that the way I enjoyed sleeping on a veranda under the stars as a child.

    1. There are worse things in life than someone seeing you naked Rachelle ;). Trust me on this one...

    2. (says the girl who you've seen.... ah never mind! I should stop bringing it up!) But I think that's part of the appeal of it. Like skinny dipping ;).

    3. there isn't much skinny in my dipping! And the settings are so different... birth professionals vs. creeper watching you bathe- or even better, google earth snapping a picture for the world to see!

  2. Bahaha no outdoor bathtub for me! I would love to have a swimming pool half covered, half uncovered though.

  3. I've always wanted an outdoor shower in a private garden off our master bedroom. Or a tall tower that had windows and screens on all four walls with a glass ceiling so we could sleep at night with the wind blowing through the sheets and under the stars. That would be cool.

    1. That does sound amazing! A screened in porch sounds awesome too... kind of like your tower.

  4. This might speak to my level of maturity, but my dream house would have a nice padded room with a trampoline floor.
