Naturally Meg - The Shop

I've been thinking about doing this for a while, so I am happy to say that I finally got around to setting up my own little etsy shop.

I've been wanting to join the "world of handmade" for a long time, but I've had a hard time coming up with something that I wanted to make. I wanted it to be pretty original, something that I hadn't really seen before.

One night I was laying in bed trying to sleep and I was trying to think of some type of artwork that I could put on my sons wall. I wanted it to be something that had his initials and birth date on it. Then the idea of a little tree with his initials "carved" into it came to my mind. I couldn't sleep until I got up and made the tree! I spent December making all sorts of little trees to give to people for Christmas and so I decided to offer them to anyone who wants one!

I'm starting with these four trees, one to represent each season. And of course, what tree collection would be complete without...

A palm tree...
So there is my little tree collection that I've been working on. I wanted to start things off right so I figured why not do a giveaway!!!
To enter the give away...
1- Visit my shop (naturallymeg.etsy.com) and take a look at the trees.
2- Leave a comment on this post with which tree you would like and what initials and date you would like "carved" or sewn onto the tree (some ideas are a child's initials and birth date, you and your spouses initials and anniversary date...)
3- And since I always like good ideas, what is a project that you are working on or wish you were working on right now!
The winner will be announced on Monday, March 9th.
Thanks for playing along!

  1. wow, those are sooo cute! I love all of them, but I think the winter one with Mae's initials and birthdate would be so sweet in a pink frame. Her initials are M.V.J. and her birthdate 11/7/06.
I am in the middle of a bunch of different paintings, and have been procrastinating big time. I have a really cool idea for some portraits of Tom and I, so keep your eye out in the next month or so:)
Oh yah, it would be really awesome if I won, since my birthday is on March 8th. wink wink :)

  6. That's awesome! Those are so cute! If I don't win, I will definitely buy one! You should make a little blinky so people can advertise your etsy shop on their blogs. I would definitely put one on mine! Anyways, I would definitely want the palm tree with our initials: RT BT 12/28/02 - same as yours. :)

  7. You are so creative! I love the fabric sewn onto cardstock. What a great idea. I think I would want the winter one with JB + KT 12/22/07.

Let's see, I have about 10 projects I'm working on or want to be working on right now. :) I bought some Minkee fabric and am trying to get the courage to make a little receiving blanket with that on one side and flannel on the other side. I don't know if I should wash the fabric before or after sewing or leave it for the recipient to wash. Hmmmm. . .Hopefully some day soon you'll see a finished blanket on my blog. :)
